They say 14 of the 35 millionaires made from the Silver Rush in nearby Cobalt lived here. These stately homes escaped the ravages of the Great fire of 1922.
Ghost of the Hardy Boys
Leslie McFarlane, the first author of the Hardy Boys, grew up in Haileybury & later returned to write 11 of the renowned series in the town.
Visit scenic Devil's Rock, a fault cliff 2,200 million years old. It has a face of 600 feet above water level. It was named after an Indian princess who leapt to her death upon being denied marriage to the brave of her choice.
